Dad, you were a man of few words, but you did teach me so much about life. From learning to swim to learning to stand on my own to feet. It was you that made me strong enough to stand up for my rights and to withstand the strong winds of life.
There were times you pushed gently and other times you pushed hard but I know you always pushed me to be my best. Even when we didn't agree I knew you loved me not from your words but from your eyes and actions.
From the stories I heard, I know life was not an easy road to travel but your actions showed your heart grew with each addition to the family. So many times we told you not to spoil the grandkids and yet we always knew you would. Each baby you held brought a sparkle to your eyes and pride to your life. From the first time you become Nonno your life revolved around the grand and great-grand children, their hugs became your oxygen and their kisses your nurishment.
While the last few years have been difficult to watch as you slipped into your own world, we know that you were well cared for. We know that you loved the people, and the visistors at St. Joseph and you were at peace in your room.
Our last conversation continues to ring in my ears and put a smile in my heart. I love you dad and I know you love me very much too.
This is not good bye forever, this is just a good bye until we meet again.
Proud to be your daughter - Julia
