It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Lucila “Lucy” Bayan Dolorosa on July 13th at St. Boniface Hospital in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the age of 66.

In November of 1980, Lucy gave birth to her first and only daughter Sheila. In the early 1980’s Lucy wanted to create a better life for her daughter and family and decided to move to Hong Kong to work as a domestic helper. She lived there for a few years until then she made the decision to fly to Canada and become a nanny in 1986. In 1990 Lucy had her second child and only son Jim. Later she worked for the Duha Group Company for about 10 years.
Lucy then graduated from Red River College with a Dietary Aide Certificate and worked at Deer Lodge. Years passed and at 60 years of age Lucy proceeded with her retirement.
