Dr. Louis Villa
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Dr. Louis Villa. Louis is survived by his wife Adriana, daughters Romana (Rob), and Bruna (Brian), son Mario (Penny) and grandchildren Alexis, Liam, Ashley, Kora, and Alissa.
Louis was born in northeast Italy in November 1923. He completed his studies after the end of WW11, graduating from the University of Bologna in Veterinary Medicine. On July 4, 1951, Louis landed in Canada as an immigrant. After 2 years at the University of Guelph (U of T), he obtained his Canadian certification in Veterinary Medicine. He moved to Winnipeg and established a successful small animal veterinary hospital, the Villa Veterinary Clinic. Louis participated in several clubs and organizations including more than 50 years at the rotary club. Louis loved photography and film and made many travel documentaries from his extensive travels all over the world. He enjoyed spending summers at his cottage in Lake of the Woods with family and friends.
The family would like to thank the staff of 4N and the palliative team at the Grace Hospital for the excellent care provided to Louis.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 10:30 am on November 22, 2016 at the Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave., Rev. Father Sam Argenziano celebrant; followed by a reception in the church hall, where family and friends are invited to celebrate Louis’s life.
Flowers gratefully declined. If so desired, donations can be made to the Humane Society or to the Winnipeg West Rotary Club (Golden Rainbow Fund).
