Obituary for Hubert Edmond Saurette

Hubert Saurette
April 27, 1952 – December 7, 2019

It is with great sadness that we announce that Hubert Saurette, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother (in law), son in law, uncle and friend passed away peacefully in his sleep after years of health challenges.
He is survived by his wife Louise (Boulet), children Mireille (Rick Piche), Rachelle (Norman Berard), Marc, Jacqueline (Michael Cassils), grandson Nicolas Berard, siblings Gisele Saurette-Roch, Germain (Angelica), Roland (Aline), Edouard (Nedain), Jacques, Lise (John Wynne), Fernand (Azul), Carole Wells (Steve), Lucien (Paula), Monique Evans (Denis), mother-in-law Germaine Boulet, and numerous extended family, and friends.
Hubert was predeceased by his parents Andre and Madeleine (Deschenes), father-in-law Charles Boulet, and sister-in-law Evelyne (Michaud) as well as uncles and aunts.
Hubert and Louise married in 1973 and had four children. He worked at Canada Packers, cooked at St. Boniface Hospital and for the Oblates of Marie Immaculate. He left the workforce in 2004 when his health began declining. He loved telling stories and lived to cook for family and neighbours. He valued spending quality time with his family. He enjoyed the outdoors and spent countless hours picking berries and tending to his garden. A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 13th at 10:30am at La Paroise de Precieux-Sang/Precious Blood Parish, 200 Kenny Street. Reception to follow in the parish hall. All are welcome. Private internment to be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, seeing as Hubert loved to take care of and feed people, donations to Winnipeg Harvest, Siloam Mission or a food bank of your choice in his honour would be greatly appreciated by his family.
