Obituary for Diana Geraldine Marie Loney

Print
Diana Loney died peacefully November 23rd 2018 surrounded by her brother Wayne and her close friends Elizabeth and Robyn. A teacher and a good friend, she will be missed by all whose lives she touched.

Diana was born in Vancouver and raised in Manitoba and Southern Ontario.
After her graduation, she began her teaching career in Norway House. She fell in love with the community and the residents and stayed for 36 years; and she made many life-long friends (they adopted her and she adopted them).

After retiring and moving back to Winnipeg, she continued her friendly and socializing ways: making new friends with those who lived near her in the various apartment buildings. She was always part of the “Social club”: Arranging and participating in pot luck dinners and outings and card games for the residents, Or just hanging around the reception desk so she could say hello and chat with everyone that came by. You could count on her sunny disposition.

She had a sharp wit and a great sense of humour and her health challenges never changed that. She loved shopping, jewelry (shopping for and wearing), playing cards (and hated to lose!), and loved her old movies and large selection of music.
Her family includes those who touched her heart and whose hearts she also touched.

A private Celebration of Life has been held with many great memories shared.
