Obituary for Josefina Bartolome Concepcion

Josefina Bartolome Concepcion
November 10, 1926 – August 21, 2018

Josefina Bartolome Concepcion (1926-2018) – Josefina, at age 91, peacefully joined her Lord and Saviour on August 21, 2018 surrounded by the love of her family in Winnipeg and through video link with her daughter and son in California, as well as relatives in the Philippines.
She was born November 11, 1926 in the Philippines during the Second World War. As the eldest child, Josefina supported her parents by caring and protecting her nine siblings during the Japanese Occupation in the Philippines. Regardless of life’s challenges, Josie’s inherent desire for knowledge enabled her to create a bright future for herself.
Josefina’s strong determination for success was passed on to her four children whom she had inspired to take challenges and strive for their best. Over the years, she built family solidarity through unconditional love, respect, patience, and faith in God. Since 2008, Josie had united her loved ones by starting a tradition of family reunions on the foundation of Psalm 145:4 “One generation shall praise Your works to another and shall declare Your mighty acts.” Josie’s legacy on JACS (Jingco, Agpalza, Concepcion, and Samaniego families) had fostered a stronger bond through trust, openness, and acceptance.
Josie is survived by her four children and their spouses Bernadette Agpalza (Flavy), Bing Jingco (Boy) in San Francisco, Jun Concepcion (Regie) in Los Angeles, and Maria Samaniego (Robert); her grandchildren Herbert Jingco (Mobette) in Martinez, CA, Bom Agpalza (Cristina), Bernaleene Rufo (Val), Jey-Ar Crump (Laura) in Los Angeles, Emmanuel Agpalza (Ginnie), Jennifer Generao (Johann), Denisse Samaniego, and Danielle Samaniego; her great grandchildren Jasmine Eve Jingco in the Philippines, Jhona Jingco and Jobette Jingco in Martinez, CA, Enzo Agpalza, and Solomon Generao.
Josie also left behind her sisters Herminia, Flor, Del, Lita, and Alice in the Philippines; Sally and Daisy in Daly City, CA. She was pre-deceased by her parents and siblings Mario, Juanito, Ricardo, and Corazon in the Philippines.
She will be lovingly greeted in heaven by her oldest apo (grandson) Jhon-Jhon Jingco (1972-1997).
Lamay (viewing) will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 6 p.m. to 12 midnight at Mosaic Funeral, Cremation & Cemetery Services, 1839 Inkster Blvd, Winnipeg.
