Obituary for Manuela Maysa Domingo

Manuela Maysa Domingo
Manuela Maysa Domingo
November 21, 1924 – October 10, 2017

It is with great sadness and regret that we announce the passing of Manuela Maysa Domingo on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at the age of 92 years.

Manuela is predeceased by her husband, Felipe Domingo, brother, Gaspar Maysa, son, Honorio Domingo and granddaughter, Reynalyn Genobebe.

She is survived by her daughter in law, Puring and children: Presentacion (Rizal), Erlinda, Elena (Rodelito) and Gaudencio (Aida), Grandchildren: Janet (Orlando), Marichrist, Ariel (Cherry), Alma (Noel), Ana & Romeo, Cher (Mike), Guilnard & Nolan, Cherry (Bradley), Aileen (Fred), Ronalie (Lemuel), Dennie (Frudalin), Glenny (Randy), Gerly (Noel), Laarni (Noel), Great-Grandchildren: Francine Supranes, Markjolan, Joenel & Ivy (Pascua), Shanilae (Augustin), Mark Anthony & Roldan (Villaluz), Marcendianne, Nikko & Hero (Genobebe), Omhar, Mikaylah, Rhayver & Arhiana (Reyes), Savannah (Tumolva-Knecht), Angel, Samantha & Gabrielle (Caldito), Lathrell & Kythrell (Domingo) …. And Great-Great-Grandchildren: Leigh Angela & Lauren Angela (Augustin) , Kaezon Rob (Genobebe)

Manuela was a farmer and housewife in the Philippines before immigrating to Canada in 1980, to help her daughter, Erlinda, raise her young family. She did not only care for her own grandchildren but also extended family, friends and neighbors. Her love of caring & nurturing was also expressed in her passion for gardening where she spent the spring preparing seedlings, tending to the garden during the summer and harvesting in the fall. The fruits of her garden were shared among many family, friends and neighbors.

She will be lovingly remembered by her family as a strong, determined and courageous woman who moved to the other side of the world, adapted to foreign country without speaking the language or knowing the culture to help her daughter. A simple, kind and generous woman who instilled values of love of family and hard work in her grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the homecare workers who kept Manuela comfortable in her daughter’s home and the SICU team at the Health Science Centre; their empathy and compassion will never be forgotten.

Viewing/Lamay will be held on Friday, October 20th, 2017 commencing at 6:00 P.M. at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd. Winnipeg, MB. with Fr. Mar Batucan presiding.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 21th at 12:30 PM at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St. with Msgr. Enrique M. Samson, Jr. celebrant.

Interment will take place following mass at Glen Eden Memorial Garden, 4477 Main Street, West St. Paul, MB.

Reception will follow after the interment at Mosaic Reception Centre, 1839 Inkster Blvd. Winnipeg, MB.
