Hinderburg Martinez Barredo
December 5, 1943 – September 22, 2017
It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hindenburg Martinez Barredo on September 22, 2017 at Seven Oaks Hospital.
Hinden will be dearly missed by his mother, Salud Barredo, his sisters, Virginia Lim, Josephine (William) Campbell, Marilyn (Rafael) Bunag, his children, Robert (Meg), Blaine (Maricel), Paulo and their mother, Elsa Sacco, his children, Marian and Alexander and their mother, Jasmine Barredo, his grandchildren, Diana, Hindenburg, William, Blenmar, Blenmarie, Elsa Mae, special niece, Grace Lim, dear friends, Ross Jimenez and Digna Borces, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Martin Barredo and brother-in-law, Nicolas Lim.
Hinden was born in the Philippines on December 5, 1943. He pursued a law degree from the Harvardian University in Davao. He served in the military and dabbled in Philippine politics running for Congressman in 1987. This was interrupted by the arrival of his immigration papers and, with his family, he readily left for Canada to join his parents and sisters in Winnipeg. Later, they moved to Utah and BC. In 2001, he eventually made his way back to Winnipeg. Hinden enjoyed following US and Philippine politics, traveling, gardening, painting, smoking his Marlboros, going to the casinos, and hanging out with the BK group.
The family would like to thank doctors, nurses, and staff at Seven Oaks Hospital for their excellent and compassionate care.
Lamay/Viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd., commencing at 6:00 pm. Prayer service will be at 7:30 pm with Rev. Jorge Mante officiating.
Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at 11:00 am. at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St. Msgr. Enrique Samson Jr. celebrant.
A reception for family and friends will be held at Mosaic Reception Centre, 1839 Inkster Blvd. following the mass.
