Obituary for Lorraine Jeanne Crooks

CROOKS, LORRAINE JEANNE 1967-2017. We are sad to announce the death of Lorraine Crooks; mother, wife, daughter, sister, aunt and best friend, who passed away on August 22 at the age of 50. Lorraine is survived by her loving husband Michael, son David, daughters Sara and Megan, sisters Laurette (Brian) Carson, Louise (Dan) Hallam and mother, Claire Levac, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. An informal and unstructured celebration of Lorraine’s life will be held for family members and close friends on Wednesday, August 30, 2017, starting at 12:30 P.M. at the Best Western Plus Pembina Inn & Suites at1714 Pembina Hwy, Winnipeg, MB R3T 2G2. Lorraine Crooks (Nee Levac) was born and raised in Gravelbourg SK. She was a top student in school, earning the Governor General medal for academic excellence when she graduated. She left home at the age of 18 to pursue a career in banking, moving in with her sister in 1986 at Saskatoon. She met her husband, Michael Crooks, that year and the two were married on March 12, 1988. After a highly productive and rewarding management career with National and Canada Trust, Lorraine became a full-time mom in the year 2000. The family lived in Saskatoon, Cold Lake, Regina and Taber before moving to Winnipeg in 2010. Lorraine died from metastatic breast cancer on August 22, 2017.
