Erlinda Castillo
March 15, 1950 – August 1, 2017

It is with great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Erlinda on August 1, 2017 at her home, at the tender age of 67 years old.

Linda was born on March 15th, 1950 in Guadalupe Viejo Rizal, Philippines. Erlinda was recruited by Midwest Garments and sought the opportunity to come to Winnipeg in December of 1972 and was able to sponsor the rest of her siblings and mother soon after.

Linda was a strong, carefree woman who cared deeply about her family. She helped pave a way for the rest of her family to have a better way of living in Canada. Linda was extremely selfless and put family above anything else. She has helped raise her nieces and nephews as if they were her own children and loved each and every one of them deeply.

She leaves behind a legacy through her siblings; Citas (Carlito), Deena, Cristy, Bong, Rolly (Gloria) many nieces and nephews, several grandchildren; and one Uncle, Florentino Cunanan in the Philippines. Linda has been reunited again with her mother, Fortunata Castillo (d. 2006), and her father, Felipe Castillo (d.1979).

Lamay/Viewing will be held on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd., commencing at 6:00 pm.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St. Winnipeg, MB.

Interment in Glen Eden Memorial Gardens, 4477 Main St, West Saint Paul, MB.
