Carmelita S. Esguerra, 76, passed away and joined her Creator on July 11, 2017, at Health Sciences Center in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. Born on January 23, 1941 in Bocaue, Bulacan, Philippines.

She was predeceased by her parents Diosdado and Carmen Silva, her husband of 44 years Ramon Esguerra, and son Jonathan.

She was survived by her daughter Jennifer Lachica and husband Joseph, daughter-in-law Joy, two grandchildren – Chloe, and Josh; brother Leonardo and sister Amelia; nephews, nieces, and cousins; and friends.

Carmelita had been a teacher most of her life in Binang Elementary School in Bocaue.
A well-loved by her many students and peers. She was an active member of Jesus is Lord (JIL), Samahang Kababaihan ng Bocaue, and Retired Teachers Group of Bocaue. She was also a dedicated advocate for diabetes awareness in her hometown.

Lita, as fondly as called by family and friends, was jolly and a happy person. She loves
dancing, travelling with her friends, sewing, and knitting too. She spent her remaining days here in Winnipeg with her daughter Jennifer and her family. An avid reader of the Holy Bible as she always starts her day reading it and listening to Christian songs.


Lamay/Viewing will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at Mosaic Funeral Chapel, 1839 Inkster Blvd., Winnipeg MB. commencing at 6:00 pm.

Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 3:00 pm at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, 748 Keewatin St., Rev. Monsignor Enrique Samson Jr. celebrant.

Interment in the Philippines at a later date.
