Obituary for Noreen Migliaccio (Mazza)

Noreen Migliaccio (Mazza)
Noreen Migliaccio (Nee Mazza)
April 8, 1956 – June 11, 2017

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unforeseen passing of our dear mother and sister, Noreen Migliaccio at the age of 61 on Sunday June 11.

She is survived by her devoted loving husband of 42 years Joe, son Frank, and daughters Angela and Maria.
Also mourning Noreen’s loss are her brothers Gino Mazza and wife Jenny, Tony Mazza and wife Philis, and Mick Mazza and wife Stella, in addition to many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins in Winnipeg and Italy whom Noreen adored and loved immensely.

Noreen was born in a small village of Amato, Italy in 1956. At the age of nine her family immigrated to Winnipeg with the desire to build a better future and joined other family members in this journey. She attended Churchill high school, proudly graduating with honours in typing, and immediately set out in a career with Wawanesa Insurance spanning over 40 yeas until her retirement in 2016.

In 1975, at the age of 19, Noreen painfully lost her father Pasquale and immediately bore the responsibility to assist her mother to raise the family in their fort rouge home. Shortly after, she embarked on her new life with Joe as they married in August of the same year. Together they raised three beautiful children whom Noreen would affectionately and limitlessly spoil with love. Whether creating new food recipes, as she spent most of her evenings and weekends cooking and immersing the house with her love of music, or presenting her buffet of incredible desserts, Noreen was sure to share her offerings with countless families who have had the privilege to enjoy. Christmas dinners were a feast to behold and every family member would wait in anticipation as to what Noreen would serve next.

When Noreen lost her mother Maria in 2005, she lost her best friend and confidant, as the two were inseparable. She fought hard to remain the pillar of strength for her family, including her brothers, and was determined to restore normalcy to lessen the pain for all. This was her caregiving characteristic in which Noreen possessed and it was never more evident than in the last three years with her unwavering dedication to the care for her husband Joe following his illness. Her tireless devotion to her family was paramount and her remarkable dedication and love to the family unit will forever be remembered in our hearts.

Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. on Thursday, June 15 at 11:00 A.M. Condolences will be offered at 10:00 A.M
Rev. Father Sam Argenziano celebrant. Entombment in Green Acres Cemetery, #1 Hwy E. @ Navin Rd.

Pallbearers will be brother, Gino, Tony, and Mick, nephews Charlie, Gino Jr., Tony, and cousin Mick. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. We will forever remember your love, and will cherish the memories you’ve created for us.
