Obituary for Priscilla A. Olanrewaju (Alimangohan)

Priscilla was born on January 14th, 1947 in G. Tuazon, Sampaloc (Manila) to Restituto & Irene (Catindoy) Alimangohan.

She completed all her education in Manila, Philippines. It was there during her University days she met and married the love of her life, Engineer Mohammed Mondiu Olanrewaju.

In 1975, after her husband landed a job as a pilot with Nigeria Airways, she moved to Lagos, NIgeria where unfortunately shortly thereafter, she lost her husband in a ghastly and fatal automobile accident that left her widowed with two very young children.

Though a foreigner, she loved Nigeria, her people, and adapted quite well to her culture.

After many scary experiences with Boko Haram she decided to move to Canada and in 1991 arrived at Winnipeg, Manitoba (Canada)

Most of her career involved working as a teacher or early childhood educator, and working with children & people of all ages and background. She was a very warm, kind, patient and creative teacher which endeared her to students and parents alike.

Priscilla enjoyed travelling. Being married to a pilot was a great advantage and she travelled to many countries near and far. She loved listening to music from different parts of the world as well as tasting or eating cuisine from all over the world. She also loved taking pictures and over the years lent her self and talents to many people as a photographer during special events.

There is so much more to say about Priscilla. However, the last thing we would mention is her perseverance and tenacity. When she became sick in 2014, she was given 4 months to live; but like she had done in times past, with prayers and support from loved ones, she fought and marched on with great courage and determination until she passed away January 14th, 2017 on what would have been her 70th birthday.

Priscilla left many loved ones behind: her sister-Mrs. Constance A. Solano, sister inlaw Mrs. Aurura C. Alimngohan, her brother Juanito Alimangohan, her daughter Fatima A. Mustapha, her son Abdul Olanrewaju and her grandchildren: Mala'ika, Saffina, Safira, Maalik, Farida, Semira, Caleb, Zaria, as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday January 28th, 2017 at Mosaic Event Centre, 1006 Nairn Avenue Winnipeg, Manitoba at 11:00 A.M. with a reception to follow. Interment at 2:00 PM in Glenlawn Memorial Gardens, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, Manitoba.
