Obituary for Bryan Queau

Bryan Queau
Bryan Charles Queau
May 11, 1946 – March 24, 2016
Peacefully on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Pinawa Hospital, Bryan Charles Queau passed away with his wife and daughter by his side.

Bryan is survived by his wife Caren of 38 years and their children; Michelle Queau (Geoff Puckett) and grandchildren Eric Brown (Shaylene and Mathew Puckett); Kevin Queau and granddaughter Kenadee Walstens. He also leaves his sister and brother-in-law Lorraine and Neil Douglas. He is survived by his sister-in-law Cheryl Wait (Gene) and mother-in-law Margaret Wait. He leaves behind many nephews, nieces and friends.

Bryan was predeceased by his parents Mary and Harvey Queau and his father-in-law Charles Wait.
Bryan grew up in Fort Rouge and remained there to raise his family. He was an electrician for CN and VIA Rail for 41 years. Bryan and Caren spent their vacations camping and traveling by motorhome across Canada and the United States. He enjoyed watching his son and grandson play hockey over the years. He had a passion for history and spent his spare time doing genealogy and researching both sides of the family tree. There are many interesting stories discovered and he has left a great legacy to pass onto generations to come.

In 2005, Bryan and Caren moved to the Lac du Bonnet community to enjoy their retirement years together. They would build great friendships and enjoyed the lifestyle offered by country living.
Bryan was a quiet man who was very kind, caring and ready to lend a hand or offer support to others anyway he could. He also had a great sense of humour that never wavered.
The family would like to thank Drs McLeod, Kaita, Ainslie and Dao who have all provided exceptional care and management of Bryan’s various medical complications over the years.

We would especially like to thank the support received by the Lac du Bonnet community by providing home care staff and community health nurses who were invaluable in managing Bryan’s care at home over the years. Additionally, we would like to thank Dr. Bruneau and staff at the Pinawa hospital who provided outstanding care to Bryan. Not only was he able to receive his CancerCare treatments close to home, the staff provided compassion and supported Caren each time they visited.

In keeping with Bryan’s wishes, cremation has already take place and a private family interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba at ON-1160 - 675 McDermot Ave. Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9, Pinawa Foundation at P.O. Box 100, Pinawa, MB R0E 1L0 or to a charity of one’s choice.
